Greenpeace needs to showcase and promote its new VR content effectively, both existing and newly commissioned. There's a requirement to quickly design and implement an application that can serve as a dedicated platform for hosting this immersive content. The envisioned app must prioritize user-friendliness, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all users. Compatibility with VR devices such as Google Cardboard and Samsung Gear is crucial.
The user experience is made simple and easy to use. The onboarding journey explains in three simple steps how to use the VR app and connect the mobile device to a Google cardboard headset. The VR content is mixed with other types of content in the form of a timeline, as a feed of information. The details screen gives a short description and the user can download or stream the content. At the end of a video, the app invites the user to donate or sign a petition.
The vision for the app experience is validated with a small user group testing, going into the production stage afterwards. The VR app was successfully launched and is featured on media outlets such as Designweek.co.uk, Lovelymobile.news and Adsofbrands.net
