As a tattoo artist, João Bosco has a business need to create a brand identity that can firmly represent his art. His artistic creations are characterized by their boldness, featuring large pieces that leave a lasting impact on the viewer. This distinctive artistic essence needs to seamlessly translate into his brand design and applications.
Start with a collaborative creative discovery process to define the direction of the brand. Setting initial design principles that will support the development of brand identity. Through collaborated brainstorming sessions with the artist, sketch out ideas for the logo mark that truly speaks with his work and personality.
The brand identity is an essential asset for João Bosco's business. The collaborative process ensured client satisfaction and a consistent logo application across various types of products including business cards, stickers, flyers, posters, banners, labels, embossing seals, and even kitchen towels. Having personally gotten tattooed by João Bosco, it's been a pleasure to assist in shaping his brand identity.

By embracing an elegant and minimalist approach, the style not only elevates the brand identity but also distinguishes it from the visual clutter of logos that often overtakes the tattoo art industry. This simple and clean design direction creates a striking contrast with the intricate and multi-layered nature of João Bosco's artwork.
Creative discovery keywords: tattoo, tattooist, art, artist, solid, experienced, professional, premium, established, dark, fresh, up-to-date, ink, painting, shadow, depth, classic, trustworthy, organic, black & grey, layer, detail. Metaphors: angular, fire, ice, nature, minimal, solid, metal, motion, symbols. Visual elements: skull, snake, eagle, dragon, eyes, black, matte, straight, lines, square, circle, white, space.
After selecting one mark, we deconstruct the illustration sketch using only basic shapes, allowing for testing and exploring directions based on the thickness and boldness of the symbol. This exploratory process of deconstructing the sketchy for study can help you find better solutions. The idea of using the original sketch illustration for the brand mark is to keep the manual craft process that the tattoo artist applies in his work. This process also helps to keep the balance and proportions of the original hand-drawn shapes. Finally, we do rhythm adjustments, adjusting symmetry to correct the rhythm of the shapes. Optical and detail adjustments for further symmetry and detail adjustments of the mark.
