There's a need for a brand identity refresh that serves as a natural evolution from the existing one, adding a sense of modernity and consistency throughout applications. Start by taking the lead from the sources of inspiration that were originally used and iterate on the concept to craft the updated visual identity.
The wordmark uses a visual reference to the Elder Futhark (the oldest form of the runic alphabet). The runic staves allow for infinite exploration of binding runes and interesting visual connections. It creates a minimalist look that can be applied in many forms. The method of carving on wood is a form of art that I appreciate and it is intrinsically connected to the runic alphabet.
Over the years, the brand identity has organically evolved, seamlessly embracing a more minimalist design aesthetic while preserving the essence of its original concept. Returning to the fundamentals, the design retains key elements that define its core idea. The adoption of a simple and open framework not only reflects a back-to-basics philosophy but also sets the way for continual exploration, ultimately leading to new iterations.
